Privacy Policy

AKSuite ("AKSuite," "we," "us," or "our") operates aksuite.com and the free tools available on it (WHOIS lookup, DNS Lookup, SSL Checker, and any future tools added under the same domain), together the "Service." This policy explains what information the Service collects, why, and what choices you have. It applies to aksuite.com and its subdomains.

The short version: AKSuite has no user accounts, no passwords, no tracking, and does not sell your data. We keep short-lived logs for abuse prevention and cache the results of lookups you run so the Service stays fast. Details below.

1. Information We Collect

AKSuite does not require - or offer - account registration. We collect three categories of information:

Automatically, from every visit: your IP address, browser user-agent string, the pages you request, and request timestamps. This is standard web-server and reverse-proxy (Cloudflare) log data. We use it to operate rate limiting (so one visitor can't overwhelm the Service or the third-party registries it queries) and to diagnose abuse or technical problems. IP addresses used for rate-limiting are held only long enough to enforce the relevant cooldown window (seconds to a few minutes) and are not linked to any lookup history.

What you submit to a tool: the domain name, hostname, or IP address you enter into WHOIS, DNS Lookup, SSL Checker, or a future tool. See the next section for how this is handled - it is treated differently from ordinary visitor data because it is usually a lookup about a domain, not personal information about you.

What you submit via the Contact form: the email address and message you type in. This is used solely to read and reply to your message - it is emailed directly to us and is not stored in any database, added to a mailing list, or used for any other purpose.

2. Domain, DNS & Certificate Lookup Data

When you look up a domain, hostname, or certificate, AKSuite queries the relevant public registry, DNS resolver, or the server itself in real time, then displays the result. To keep the Service fast and reduce load on those third-party registries and resolvers:

Results are cached, typically for several hours, so a repeat search doesn't trigger a fresh outbound query every time. For domains that resolve successfully, the result may also be retained longer-term in our own database (registrar, dates, nameservers, and similar public registration data) so future visitors searching the same domain get an instant answer. This stored data is about the domain, not about the person who searched for it - we do not log who searched what, and lookup history is never linked to your IP address or any other visitor-identifying information.

Some WHOIS/RDAP records published by domain registries include real contact information for the domain's registrant, administrative, or technical contacts. Where a registry publishes this, our WHOIS tool may display it exactly as the registry does (the same information any public WHOIS/RDAP query would return) or, for certain registries, may retain a copy for informational display without independently republishing registrant contact details. We do not use this data for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond displaying it as part of a lookup result.

SSL Checker additionally resolves nameserver IP addresses and looks up their approximate geographic location (country/region/city) and network provider via a third-party geolocation API, to make results more informative. This applies to server infrastructure IP addresses, not to visitors' own IP addresses.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

AKSuite itself sets:

A session cookie - strictly necessary, used to protect forms against cross-site request forgery and to enforce per-visitor search cooldowns. It expires when you close your browser or shortly after.
Your theme preference (light/dark/system) is saved in your browser's local storage, not a cookie, and never leaves your device.

AKSuite does not use analytics or advertising cookies, and does not set any tracking cookie beyond the strictly-necessary session cookie above.

4. Third-Party Services

AKSuite relies on the following third parties to operate:

Cloudflare

Provides reverse-proxy, DDoS protection, and CDN services for aksuite.com. Cloudflare processes connection metadata for every request to the Service. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Domain registries, RDAP/WHOIS servers & DNS resolvers

Operate independently of AKSuite; each has its own data practices for the queries we make on your behalf and the records they publish.

IP geolocation provider

Used by SSL Checker to resolve nameserver IP addresses to an approximate location and network provider, as described above.

5. Data Retention

Rate-limiting IP data: minutes. Cached lookup results: typically hours to a few weeks depending on the tool, refreshed automatically when a domain is looked up again. Longer-term domain-record data (registrar, dates, nameservers - not tied to any visitor): retained indefinitely as a reference dataset, refreshed on repeat lookups, and may be corrected or removed on request (see Your Rights). Contact form messages: not stored by AKSuite at all - the message is emailed directly and retained only in whatever mailbox receives it, subject to that mailbox's own retention.

6. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK Visitors)

If the UK or EU GDPR applies to you, our legal basis for processing the information described above is legitimate interest: operating and securing the Service, rate-limiting/abuse prevention, and caching lookup results to keep it fast and reduce load on third-party registries.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because AKSuite doesn't use accounts, most requests relate to a specific stored domain record - email us (see Contact Us below) and we'll respond as required by applicable law, typically within 30 days.

8. International Data Transfers

AKSuite's infrastructure and its third-party providers (Cloudflare and others listed above) operate globally, which means your information may be processed in a country other than your own. Where required, these providers rely on recognized transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures (HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, parameterized database queries, rate limiting, and Cloudflare's own protections) to protect the Service and the limited data it holds. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. The "Last updated" date above will change accordingly, and material changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
